Data Advisor Download Instructions
How do I download Data Advisor from your Web?
- Download the file to a local hard drive:
Do not try to download the file from the Internet directly to a floppy diskette. Your browser may be set to automatically execute the Data Advisor file. Some browsers offer the option to Save or Run files on the Internet. Consult your browser documentation for details. Pay attention to the location where your browser saves the file.
Many times executing (running) the file from our Web site might cause difficulty in creating a bootable diskette. By saving the file to a local drive (like the C: or D: drive) execution errors during transmission may be eliminated. Since the file is fairly small you will not be using much drive space.
- Insert a blank, formatted diskette into the A: or B: drive.
- Double click on the file just downloaded or RUN that file.
- If any errors occur in the diskette creation process, try to close as many applications open in Windows as possible, and try to RUN the file again (or double click the file). Re-starting Windows in Safe mode is another troubleshooting option.
Note: this process is currently designed for normal, high density, 1.44 Mb floppy systems. Special floppy systems such as Imation LS-120 drive may require a Data Advisor version from their Web site.
- After the bootable Data Advisor diskette is created, take the Data Advisor diskette to the machine with the drive in question and boot to the new floppy diskette.
