Take Our Mobile Data Device Survey!
In today’s fast-paced, digital world, a majority of critical information is stored electronically on mobile devices that often end up getting thrown into a bag or even a pocket. This creates the potential for serious data disasters. In addition to the panic of losing important files, we now have to be concerned about our entire music collection disappearing in a matter of seconds, or all of our calendar appointments vanishing without a trace.
Losing data can be a traumatic experience for both businesses and home users, making the decision to go forward with data recovery a difficult one. In order to help simplify the process and enhance their customers’ experience, Ontrack Data Recovery introduces Ontrack® VeriFile™ Online Data Reports. Unique to the data recovery industry, VeriFile establishes a new standard for pre-service evaluations by allowing customers to view a complete listing of their recoverable and non-recoverable files in an organized, easily searchable format. By means of a small browserbased application, the new VeriFile reports offer customers the ability to make a more informed decision about their data recovery.
“VeriFile is a significant accomplishment because it gives customers an unprecedented level of information about the state of their data before committing to recovery,” said Jim Reinert, senior director of Software and Services for Ontrack Data Recovery. “With so many companies advertising ‘free evaluations’ that don’t include a timely or full evaluation report, it’s more important than ever to work with an experienced company that can offer advantages like VeriFile.”

Protect Your Computer from Volatile Summer Weather
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Atlantic Seaboard and Gulf Cost could be in for another bad hurricane season. Twelve to 15 tropical storms are expected this year, with seven to nine of them becoming hurricanes and three to five of those major hurricanes registering winds of at least 111 mph. In order to help computer users prepare ahead of time for the damaging effects of not only hurricanes but other severe summer weather, Ontrack Data Recovery, the industry’s leading data recovery provider, offers computer protection tips that can keep valuable data safe:

Honesty is the Best Policy
Losing data is a difficult and often embarrassing situation. As a result, when people contact Ontrack with their data loss problem, they are sometimes less than forthcoming in revealing the details of their situation. Not realizing that accidents happen all the time, data loss sufferers tend to think their situation is unique and hold back information to save face.
It’s extremely important that Ontrack has all of the facts about the data loss as early as possible because the smallest detail could be the difference between failure and a successful recovery. Ontrack keeps all information confidential so customers don’t have to worry if a mistake is the reason behind their data disaster. The next time you experience data loss, make sure you tell the whole story, because when it comes to data recovery, honesty really is the best policy.
Customers Say it Best
Phillip Villarreal, Director of Technology for Goldstar EMS – one of the largest providers of emergency medical services in Texas – recently experienced a data loss situation that would have put his company in serious peril. Thankfully, he was referred to Ontrack from an associate and made the right call:
We were facing a complete loss of our primary data vault when one of my technicians was working with the systems provider and made a gross mistake. After several days of trying to bring back to life this 12 disk RAID-5 Power Vault array, we had no success and were about to face the possibility of complete data loss since we found our tapes for this system to be corrupted and unusable.
Another company we do our storage business with recommended we contact Ontrack. Twenty-four hours after first making contact with Ontrack, we engaged their services on a Friday evening at about 8:00 pm. I thought for sure this was going to be a very long and difficult process. Within a matter of a few hours, Ontrack was able to reassemble the array manually and confirm that our data was there. They worked through the night and by 10:00 am the next morning
we had a full recovery. Ontrack was able to restore almost 300 GB of our data that we would have otherwise lost in a little over 12 hours. Since this was one of our most important data vaults, it was imperative we make as much of a recovery as possible. We never expected that we would get 100% of our data back.
Throughout the entire process, Ontrack was extremely professional and understanding as both my staff and my self were very worried. They were very good about explaining the entire process to me. I went home that night and was able to get a good nights rest for the first time in a week. Everything went exactly as Ontrack described. We were pleasantly surprised as most data recovery procedures we have gone through before were never fully detailed as Ontrack’s. While I hope to never experience data loss on this scale again, I know who my first phone call will be if I ever do. I would highly recommend Ontrack’s services to anyone who needs data recovery.
